DRAWING & PAINTING COURSES

Brisbane drawing and painting courses are taught within our regular classes.

As well as the technical skills, we help you to discover your creative style and artistic voice.

We accept a few beginners only at a time and teach progressive lessons in a small group situation.

They are held at our private studio in Salisbury and taught by qualified art teachers and artists.

Course descriptions below.

Adults and Senior Children's classes are open for courses to be held within the regular classes.

Please contact us for more information. Please note - although these courses are non-vocational, we provide high quality teaching of fine and visual art skills in all classes.

Artworks below have been created by students at beginning stages.

MORE INFORMATION about our studio style of regular classes - suitable for advanced or beginner students

BEGINNERS DRAWING COURSE:
Structured step by step classes
Progressing towards drawings of choice

Apply for the new term -

Positions are limited to 3 new students per class in groups

of 7-8.

- Structured drawing classes with a group setting following a flexible skills based program for the beginner drawer or for those who would like to extend their drawing skills.

- This course may be completed weekly or on a casual basis. Only a few beginners are taken on in each class in a term.

- Lessons are taught within the studio classes and are adapted to suit the individuals skills, needs and progress.

- Drawers are encouraged to work on the set tasks designed by the teacher (these skills build on one another) as well as begin a piece of their own interest in drawing or painting at a stage the student feels comfortable. It is important that new skills are applied to works which interest you.

- Our flexible and differentiated nature of our classes, small group sizes, allow us and the student to change direction and to simplify or provide more challenge.

- We encourage students to be in constant discussion with the teacher of their progress and any further drawing/painting interests.

- Please note: we do not offer certification as we are not a tertiary organisation, but we do have qualified art teachers who empower you with the necessary skills.

Free use of materials for FIRST lesson - BYO materials for rest of the term.

We have a Drawing Supplies List avaialable with the basics - this can be added to when required.

PAINTING COURSE:
Progressive classes
in acrylic or oil paint

Apply for the new term -

Positions are limited to 3 new students per class in groups of 7-8.

- Structured micro lessons within a small group setting based on the needs of the invidual.

- Classes suit beginners who have never held a paint brush before, through to the more aspiring art students or advanced art student.

- Our painting classes/courses have generally less tasks completed in a progressive manner than our drawing course; students are provided with micro tasks associated with a skill and connected to a chosen painting or style of painting. teaching is based on the individual and each is given immediate feedback/appropriate tasks on a painting (which is based on subjects/images/chosen material chosen by participants along with teacher advice).

- This is a studio style of class where students work on individual projects with the choice of participating in structured 'short micro lessons' on offer. These micro lessons are designed by the teacher based on the current needs of the group and individuals within the class.
